Nordic Handscape Iceland

With the use of a GSM phone as the medium of information there is brought together the demand for freedom of expression and an important exchange of opinions which will make possible a discussion between art and the public. Heritage in a New Light is a Nordic cooperative effort communicating heritage with GSM and 3G net systems. You can get information about different artists and their works through your GSM phone.

Projects

Helló art! I

New Icelandic art. On man, reality & image.
12. 11. 2004 – 16. 01. 2005

Two experimental projects have been launched in Iceland as part of Nordic Handscape, under the slogan Hello Art! The first is connected with the exhibition New Icelandic art, on reality, man and image.

Interactive mobile technology was employed to enable users to listen to information about the works of art, hear the artists themselves and text their own experiences which were then posted on the National Gallery’s website www.listasafn.is
